Between 20 minutes and 1 hour for a 40 gallon batch.
This will depend on the following:
- The quality of your reaction.
- The amount of settling time allowed.
- The cleaner your biodiesel is before purification the less time it will take to purify it.
How much does the BioKleen filter media cost me per gallon of biodiesel?
This will depend on a few factors such as settling time, reaction quality, and the amount of impurities that the system must remove. If you have a good reaction, let your biodiesel settle overnight and don’t use too much excess lye or potassium you should expect your BioKleen to cost you 9¢ per gallon of biodiesel.

We recommend using the BioKleen with the Freedom Fueler biodiesel processor although the BioKleen system is very powerful with any biodiesel. This guarantee will only apply to those who follow every instruction and testing procedure before using the BioKleen 350 system and will be void if any recommended testing procedures are not followed prior to the purification process. The following conditions must be met for the BioKleen system to purify biodiesel: Quality reaction with recommended testing, at least 12 hours of settling time. Once the fuel has been purified for the recommended time you must test your fuel as instructed to ensure complete purification before use.
